Drawing inspiration from CO2 reduction to multi-carbon chemicals, Che and colleagues describe in their recent Chem article the electroreduction of CO2 and NH3 for the synthesis of amino acids on chiral Cu films (CCFs). The chiral kink sites on CCFs contribute to the mechanism of amino acid generation; thus, they are useful for C3+ catalysis.
