摘要
MXenes have received a lot of curiosity in recent years due to their unique physical and chemical features, including their uniform planar structure, strong metallic conductivity, useful functional groups, and various derivatives. MXenes have become top contenders for improvements in water purification technologies because of their two-dimensional multilayered structures, diverse chemical composition, photocatalytic properties, and activated metallic hydroxide sites. Regarding the degradation of different contaminants, MXene-based photocatalysts are superior to other photocatalysts due to their remarkable stability and high photodegradation efficiency. MXene is a common environmental cleanup agent that works as a strong photocatalyst to break down organic contaminants in wastewater. To shed light on the subject, this review is crafted to underscore the efficacy of 84 MXene-based photocatalysts in the sustainable development-focused degradation of 31 organic pollutants from wastewater.
