Liposome-based nanocarriers (LBNs) are incredible delivery systems to encapsulate different types of active molecules. LBNs in terms of liposome, ethosome, proposome, etc., mostly in a size range of 150 nm, have been applied successfully in the skin disorders like wounds. The highly efficient penetration and retention in tissue layers, responsive release to infection, cell targeting, as well as therapeutic nature of phospholipids are important aspects of LBNs used in wound targeting. The pharmacological properties of LBNs’ phospholipids have revealed that they can produce synergy with their cargos in the wound healing process.
