摘要
A remarkable interest in different industrial processes has been developed by many researchers toward the development of unique and efficient approaches for enzymes immobilization to improve their catalytic efficiency and reusability. This strategy will help reduce high-cost problems of free enzymes and also help in fulfilling the high demand for enzymes in various industrial processes along with its reusability. However, some improvements are still essentially required while considering the immobilization of the enzymes as more research is required to search for new materials that are economically feasible, high capacity, easily preparative, and sustainable as well. Thus, considering these points, this chapter includes the basic background of the enzyme immobilization process, various factors affecting the immobilization along its applications. The immobilization can be a stepping stone for the various industrial sectors as the demand currently is increasing toward more biobased technologies, that contribute toward a sustainable present and future.
